[Solved] Problems with OpenOffice on Windows 11

Dear All,
I have been using OpenOffice on my Windows 11 Lap Top for about 1 year. This week when I tried opening up a drawing document the program states NOT RESPONDING this appears to be for all of OpenOffice (tried Write as well).
Is this s Known problem or is it NEW.
Either way can anyone help so I can use OpenOffice.

On Windows 11 you would be best advised to switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice. There are several good reasons for making the switch, some of which are mentioned here:

Did you try to reset your user profile?
Most of the time, this malfunction occurs if OpenOffice has not been installed with sufficient (admin) rights.

Yes I tryed that and a number of other things but nothing worked. I have now removed OpenOffice and will use LibreOffice instead.

Not the first time there is a problem with W11 and AOO, without LO being impacted.
Don't know if it is an issue with QA testing on AOO side or some weird issue with some piece of code...

FYI, LibreOffice only worked after I had a BIOS update, before that I had the same problem as I had with OpenOffice. Did not try OO again but it may also work now.

I have now re-installed OO (4.1.14) and it is now working, so it would appear it was a BIOS problem.

I have a HP lap top and was informed that the BIOS needed updating do not know what the BIOS was but after the update OpenOffice and LibreOffice both starting working, I also had problems with another program and that is also now working.
