[Solved] Java runtime environment requested by AOO

For reasons unknown, I am being informed that the Open Office configuration has changed and that I must select a Java Runtime Environment. I go to tools>options>java but don't know what to do from there. It indicates that I have Oracle. What do I do now?

TIA Bob

Then it seems to be fine. When do you get the message asking for a java environment?
Else, have a look at: Troubleshooting Open/LibreOffice and Java.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the button if your issue has been fixed.

It happens when I paste a photo into a document and then try to change the dimensions of the photo. Also, it is difficult to get rid of the message- I have to hit ESC multiple times.

Any link with a macro since you posted in the Macros and UNO API section of the forum?
There are plenty of issues fixed by switching to LibreOffice because AOO lacks development and quality check also I guess. Or try another AOO version.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question, "any link with a macro....". I am not at all savvy.
When I first try to change the dimensions of a pasted photo, I get a screen that indicates an event "graphics load terminated" and then immediately a second message appears indicating that I need to select a JRE. It shows Oracle as being the selected JRE.
How would I try another AOO version?

You have posted in the forum dedicated to macros.

If it is not related to macros, then I'll move the topic to another section of the forum.

to cwolan- yes, similar. I agree to enable the JRE, but nothing happens.
to-hagar- yes, please move to another topic if appropriate. Thanks to both

Just as mysteriously as the problem appeared, it has vanished. Thanks for addressing this situation.
