Can AutoCad export to jpg or some other standard image format?
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint

Try to export the drawing (ot a part of the drawing) into a lossless pixelgraphic format: .png (or into a vectorgraphic format: .svg) optimize it (its size, and resolution) by a third party image manager software and then import (insert) it into the .odt document.
Or you can try select/copy a part of the drawing onto the clipboard and then paste it as a Metafile into the .odt drawing.
