Writer not show ligatures of my custom font
Writer not show ligatures of my custom font
So I'm a conlanger, that mean I create my own languages for fun. For one of my projects, I've just created a custom font using the website Calligraphr. In this font I have a few ligatures for certain digraphs. When testing the font on the website itself, it worked completely fine, the ligatures showed up when they should. I downloaded the font and tried to use in in a document in OpenOffice Writer and it displays the ligatures as separate letters as if there were no ligatures at all in the font. I'm pulling my hair about the issue, because I can't find a solution. How do I fix this?

Re: Why does Writer not show ligatures of my custom font
Hi and welcome to the forum!
You could try LibreOffice, it has been under much more active development and thus may give better result; at least a portable version, just to check if it is the same. [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information.

Fonts come in different formats, Type 1, Type 3, Metafont, Graphite, TrueType, OpenType, etc.
Perhaps OpenOffice support for your font download format doesn't render ligatures the way you want.
Perhaps Windows 10 support for your font download format doesn't render ligatures the way you want.

It should have a support since it worked 15 years ago: Automatic ligature support through graphite fonts.

Re: Why does Writer not show ligatures of my custom font
For faultfinding you first need to find out if it shows ligatures for other fonts as in the links given. If it does, then the problem is to find why your manufactured font does not show the ligatures. If it does not show ligatures for the other fonts, then you should register a bug.
