I have installed OpenOffice 4.1.6 in my linux system RHEL 8.10 (Ootpa), but while running the soffice I am getting error - no suitable windowing system found, exiting. I have tried the unset DISPLAY, --headless too but it is not working.

Can some one please help with the solution

Hi and welcome to the forum!

AOO is not in very good shape, you should try LibreOffice.
4.1.6 is rather old. The latest versio nfor AOO is 4.1.15.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.

You may also need to change your desktop.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.16 on Xubuntu 24.04.4 LTS
