[Solved] Send spreadsheet to Thunderbird from OpenOffice

Hello I looked at a very similar post to this but it is about 8 years old. I've used open office for several years. I'd like to send the excel type spreadsheet via Thunderbird. My email is Yahoo and I now have Windows 11. I have always just clicked on the email icon at the top of the spreadsheet. I had to change computers, the old one had Windows 10. I set everything up the same (I think) and it all works. OO is fine, Yahoo email is fine and Thunderbird Email is fine. Just when I click the email icon at the top left of the spreadsheet I get the error message: OpenOffice was unable to find a working e-mail configuration. Please save this document locally instead and attach it from within your e-mail client.
If I can't get it to wok it isn't an end of the world thing, it is just Ham radio related and only a hobby. But I'd really appreciate any help and please DUMB it down for me as much as possible.

I use neither Windows, nor Thunderbird, nor Yahoo, nor Excel, so I have no specific answer for you, however if you put
Thunderbird in search box at the upper right corner of every forum page you will find hundreds of topics about Thunderbird which may lead you to a solution. For the present time I will move your topic to the
MS Windows forum. I have heard that Thunderbird has both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. I know that on Windows OpenOffice is a 32-bit program and so it will probably need a 32-bit version of Thunderbird to make the OpenOffice↔︎Thunderbird connection. I would guess that some of the search results may expain this in more detail than I can provide. Perhaps your Windows 10 system had a 32-bit Thunderbird and your Windows 11 system now has a 64-bit Thunderbird application installed.

I
never use the
Email icon in the OpenOffice application. I always use my Email application to attach the saved spreadsheet document. You may find that this simple method avoids the need to diagnose why OpenOffice doesn't find Thunderbird.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

I just tried to send an email using Thunderbird and Libreoffice 24.8.6.2 and was able to attach the file to a Thunderbird email. Libreoffice is 64 bit and Thunderbird is 128.10.0esr 32bit. I used File--->Send to accomplish this.
Edit:
I'm running Windows 11 24H2.

I guess this is solved I can't get Thunderbird to work as I need it so after many attempts I have removed it. No point having it if its not going to work. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
Of course I will continue to use Open Office

Well, ditching TB is quite something.
Have you tried at least a portable version of LibreOffice?
AOO is quite in limbo now, LO may be a better bet for the future.

Despite your current difficulty there are several good reasons for making the switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice anyway, some of which are mentioned here:

I use TB since 30 years, used to use OpenOffice from 2002 until 2014, LibreOffice since 2014. Back in the 90ies, the predecessor of Thunderbird was the mail component of Netscape Navigator which became 2 separate open source applications Firefox and Thunderbird. Of course, Thunderbird works very well for millions of people.
OpenOffice is the application which has become obsolete due to zero maintenance during the past 12 years.
If you want to send any type of attachment with any kind of mail program or even with a web-mail service running in a browser, all you need to do is storing the attachment and then attach the stored file to your email. There is always some attachment facility in the mail application. Using the program which generates the attachment is not guaranteed to work because it requires some kind of communication between independent applications which know next to nothing about each other.
For instance, you can drag file icons into a Thunderbird email window or you can call menu:File>Attach>File(s)... in Thunderbird. Every application sending mails has some clip icon, menu command or drag&drop facility.
