Hello;

[Solved] When opening a text file, .odt, in OpenOffice, it opens it in a separate stand alone file opening app., rather than OpenOffice4. How do I have the file open in OpenOffice4?

OpenOffice is an office suite that consists of six modules. Each has a separate, specific function. They are OpenOffice Writer (word processor); OpenOffice Calc (spreadsheet); OpenOffice Draw (drawing); OpenOffice Impress (multimedia presentation); OpenOffice Base (database front end); and OpenOffice Math (mathematical equation designer).

So you are in fact opening your file in OpenOffice Writer module, as you can see from the title bar of the Writer window.

Hello;
Thank you so much for your rapid answer. It was so simple to correct, I'm so embarrassed. I'm 83 yrs old and losing some of my memory and cognitive abilities. Thanks again.
Vince.
