Hello everyone,
I have a file with many pages, how can I make the pages independent of each other?
By modifying the first page for example text or space, the second page, third etc. will also be modified, I would like this not to happen
thanks

Re: Independent pages
OpenOffice is designed for text flow; if you wish to hold separate pages, best to define a Paragraph Style for the first line of each page, and in that style, on the Text Flow tab, under Breaks, select Insert and the Page type required.
This facility is normally used to start a new chapter on its own page.

Re: Independent pages
Writer is the wrong application to use if you want to work in pages. For example, reordering pages can be difficult in Writer. Consider using Impress, Draw, or Scribus.
Fix your forum signature in User Control Panel → Profile → Edit Signature. OpenOffice 2.4 is obsolete; no one here uses that. Provide your real version and your operating system version or you may receive inappropriate advice for your situation.

Re: Independent pages
I agree with MrProgrammer: Impress is probably best. In it one can set the slides (pages) to A4 or Letter. but one only has rudimentary text formatting for long text.

Re: Independent pages
Insert menu/Page Break will ensure that earlier edits don't run over onto subsequent pages so long as the available space on a page isn't exceeded before the break is set.
Writer also has text frames (Insert Menu/Frame/Frame). These can be set to anchor to the page, and have their size fixed to the size of the page. Frames can't overflow on to more than one page so edits can be made without affecting other pages.
