So, I have downloaded and followed the install guide for Open Office for a Debian based OS. It fails every time. There aren't any real messages given...just that the install failed. I'm not quite understanding where to go from here. This is all new to me. For reference, I am on a Dell G3 3500 laptop.

Please describe the steps you have taken. I know you are sure you followed the correct steps, but typically problems are caused by a misunderstanding of the process.

There is the forum tuto that you can check for any missed step: [Tutorial] Installing Apache OpenOffice on GNU/Linux.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE Faye) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.
Re: Failed install on Q4OS - Free10
I cannot answer for Q4OS, but I have successfully installed OpenOffice on many linux distros, including Debian - my normal use is on Xubuntu 22 04 5 or 24 04 1 with XFCE desktop, which distros are Debian based. Usually, failure to install is due, as Hagar says, to overlooking some installation command.
Later today, if I have time, I'll try a Q4OS setup (downloading now).

Re: Failed install on Q4OS - Free10
I downloaded Q4OS to a live USB, then installed OpenOffice 4.1.15 (for .deb), with no problems. A quick test showed OpenOffice ran correctly.
