[Dropped] Images off center in slideshow

I've added an image as a background to my slides. On editing view, it's cropped to fit perfectly. When I click 'Slideshow' to present, the image is off centre, and no longer covering the entire background of each slide. Please help!

In which format do you Save?

Yes it is.
Can you upload a screenshot of the result and/or the file itself (see: How to attach a document here)?

If you are resizing the image in Impress, that may be the cause of the problem Best to resize in an external graphics app, and then import Impress.

I don't know how to do that and still make it fit the background perfectly. Is there really no way in-software to resize and crop it to fit the slide without it then displaying wrong?

Looks like a bug.
Can you try with LibreOffice (at least a portable version just to check)?

Best if you upload a small sample .odp file (need only one slide) and a screenshot of the image correctly positioned in Impress.
