[Solved] OpenOffice 4.1.15 crashes on Windows 11

I've been having issues with Writer crashing with some regularity, though not in any way I can track or predict.

I did a search and found this thread: viewtopic.php?t=112291

I tried changing the name of the suggested folder to "user_old" but when I tried to open a document, OpenOffice prompted me to create a new profile, the document would not, and the program froze.

So I deleted the new "user" folder and changed the prior folder back from "user_old" to just "user" and documents would open again.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this new instability?

Weird that it would open with an old profile but not the new one.
Difficult to say.

You may try LibreOffice, at least a portable version to check if it works better. Some useful links provided in the topic linked above.
