I opened the Open Office program several days ago, and it won’t close. The Open Office Document Recovery box opened. The Start recovery and Cancel buttons do not work. I don’t know what to do next to get the open windows off the screen. I also cannot Restart or Shut Down my computer because the program will not close.

Your signature doesn't tell us what operating system you use. I will guess that it is MacOS. Version 4.1.2 is ten years old. Do you still use it?

Mac FAQ Q21/A21: How do I terminate the program when it doesn't respond and I can't use Quit?

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Yes. I still use it. I do the updates, but did not know there was a new version. I was able to Force Quit to close the program and log out of my computer. Everything works now. Thank you for your reply.
