Help! Up until recently, when I edited a document, I viewed the document in the middle of the screen. If I wanted to go to page 2 of the document, I scrolled down and it was under page one in the middle of the screen. Same for any other pages. There would be grey area on the left and right of the white page. As far as I know, this is the normal layout.
But, something happened recently. Now I start the document with a grey area on the left half of the screen and page 1 on the right. If I scroll down I see page 2 on the left and page 3 on the right. Scrolling again shows page 4 on the left and page 5 on the right, etc.
I have tried everything I can think of to get it to switch back to the normal mode, including removing and reinstalling Open Office, but the problem remains. What can I do? This is driving me crazy!
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Page view in Writer
Near the lower right of the Writer window, there are three small icons representing three different page views. Click the leftmost one that represents a single page.

One can also get the same result by /View /Zoom : Single page; on the /View /Zoom menu there are also scaling settings.
