OpenOffice 4.1.15 running on Ubuntu 24.04 seems to run well... But:
[1] AT CLOSE, I get the notice: "Sorry, Ubuntu 24.04 has experienced an internal error"
Integrity of the files I was working on seem fine when opened; this warning seems ominous indicating something isn't right with the settings on OpenOffice, or perhaps with the Linux OS on which its running. File saves while working seem fine; file integrity have displayed no save issues. User reports have gone out on the "internal error" item repeatedly. No reply, no updates, the problem persists. (see pics)
(third screen shot won't upload, won't allow "place inline")
[2] AT OPEN, (lesser issue) the windows are sometimes oddly nested, not full window (as I usually have it) and won't be interacted with until minimized and re-maximized. That issue is inconsistent, I haven't narrowed conditions under which this occurs, and I haven't yet caught a screen shot of that issue.
Attached are images of the NOTICE and as much of the detail as I could display over 3 pans of the screen.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
I don't remember such issue in the forum.
Devs don't visit the forum, you could send it to the mailing list (with the report as text) or file a bug report but it seems rather an Ubuntu issue.
Why don't you use LibreOffice, that is the default suite in Ubuntu?

That SIGSEGV error often pops up some few seconds after after closing a large file on OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.5: the Saved files are perfectly OK, so I just ignore it.
I get no error and notice no oddities on opening a file, but I normally don't have multiple OpenOffice files open.

I got accustomed to OpenOffice while still using a Windows OS... now on Linux in a desire to distance myself from all things "Microsoft".
When I first tried Linux a few years ago, I tried LibreOffice, and had issues with the depth of what I was creating on top of a learning curve for new software while I'm trying to produce work thereon, often under a deadline. I don't remember specifics, but I returned immediately to OpenOffice... Despite some of it's shortfalls, it works rather well.
I have several suggestions for improvement... expect to see them when I find where to post them. ;-D

I routinely have multiple files open as my present work or project is often based upon previous work or includes reference to previous projects. I'm not certain that the multiple documents open is a trigger, but I'll keep an eye on it.
