Re: locked docx# file after Oo crash
After a crash or an improper close of Open-/Libre-Office, a lock file of form .~lock.Filename.ext# may be left in the folder in which your file was stored. With Open-/Libre-Office closed, delete that lock file and all should be well.
This lock file is intended to prevent multiple accesses to the target file, during which alterations to one instance of it would not be echoed to the other instances.

If you are new to OpenOffice then it might be best to start on the right foot and you should consider switching to LibreOffice. The two are very similar in terms of using them. There are several good reasons for making the switch anyway, some of which are mentioned here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
