[Solved] Keyboard shortcut to edit in formula bar

I am an Excel user and want to try, and eventually switch, to Open Office.
Something that I cannot seem to accomplish in Calc:
When trying to edit the contents of a cell I press F2.
However, the editing is done directly in the cell. What I want, is to edit in the formula bar at the top of the screen/page.
Is there a way to customize this behavior? To have the cursor appear in the formula bar when editing the contents of a cell instead of directly in the cell?

Hi, and welcome to the forum. You mentioned Excel in your topic so I have moved it from the Beginners forum to the Calc forum.

Instead of pressing F2, click in the formula bar, or press:
• ⌘⇧F2 on MacOS
• Ctrl Shift F2 on other platforms

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ✏️ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

As you are new to all this you might be better of starting on the most sure foot and switching to LibreOffice. There are several good reasons for making the switch anyway, some of which are mentioned here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
