Online DOC to DOCX converter changes fonts

I need to convert a document created in Writer to a DOCX format. I save it in DOC, then use an online converter to get the DOCX. The problem is that this converter switches some of the fonts from Times Roman to 13, which is unacceptable.

If I open it back to in Writer, and change all the fonts back to Times Roman I can't keep the DOCX format. A vicious cycle!
Is there anything available that will either save a Writer file in DOCX, or a converter that won't monkey with the fonts?
Edit: Changed subject, was DOCX quandry

I found the problem. I am using the field "page numbers." This sets the number font at 13. Can this be set to another font?

Is there any way to save a document directly in DOCX?

You can select the number of a page number field and change the font to whatever you choose.

Did you by any chance use direct formatting to set the font size to something, while the font size for the default paragraph style or body text style is 13 pt? Because in that case, the text in a header or footer will have font size 13 pt. It's very important that as soon as you start writing somewhat complex documents, you also stop using direct formatting (using the formatting tools on the toolbars). Instead, modify the paragraph styles according to your needs/taste. That way, you will get a consistent formatting without getting major headaches.

LibreOffice can save to .docx directly so you might want to consider making a switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice. There are several good reasons for making the switch anyway, some of which are mentioned here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
