ODT Creation date and print date

Post by Bobby P »

Hi,
I have an ODT file creation date issue...yes another one :D
I'm trying to confirm the creation date of a document, so I've gone through the usual File...Properties.....General routine...
Thing is it gives me one date for the file creation/ modified date ok but a "last printed" date of about 4 months earlier?
It suggests revision number 2 ..... but regardless of the revision number, how can this document be printed 4 months before it was created?

TIA for any help, can forward file if anyone can strip it down (beyond my abilities

How can this be your first post but you talk about this being another problem?

Have you tried right clicking on the file icon in Windows explorer and choosing properties from the popup menu to see what that says for the creation date?

Could there be some confusion over the order of month vs day of month?
eg 1/6/24 is after 8/2/24 if the day of month is first but the other way if its in the middle

Hi JeJe, Thanks for your response.
Another creation date issue..... just because I've seen others post about the subject before.
Properties gives me.... Created 20/09/2024, 11:01:00,
Modified 20/09/2024, 11:01:00, last Printed 24/05/2024, 07:46:00, Revision number 2 ?
Is it that revision 1 was printed 24/05/2024, 07:46:00 ? but that shouldn't happen, even if there was a revision1 that was printed 24/05/2024, 07:46:00? it shouldn't show as this version was printed at a previous date..... technically this "version" has therefore never been printed? if I'm making any sense?
Thanks for your attention

I can replicate this by putting my computer system clock back and then printing. Could you have printed or created the document with different system clock settings?

From memory, the Creation date is reset when a file is renamed and Saved, even if renamed and Saved to the same name. It may be that the Printing date is not affected by such renaming/Save.

Incorrect memory - see later posts.

OO Writer odt keeps the original created date for me when saved to a new name.

Yes - on checking I find you are correct, and I miss-remembered.
