[Solved] Copy/Paste Html does not preserve formatting

Is there a way that a html web page can be copied to Writer preserving the formatting?
In particular paragraphs and italics.

I created a file from this web page using Paste Special/HTML and breaking external links to embed the image. I can get a similar result with a simple paste - Ctrl+V.

Not all web pages are created equal - often they are a created with Javascript or some other language and bear little resemblance under the bonnet to a traditional HTML page. Even some usage of CSS will render a page in a way that won't be preserved. Perhaps the page(s) you are trying to copy are such?

A quick and dirty way to do a small number of pages is to take a screenshot of each page and insert it into your Writer document as an image.

I have done copying successfully before so I thought that this time I was missing something.
I looked for an alternative source and it worked, I wasn't aware of different flavours of html, must have been lucky every other time!
