[Solved] Graphics downloads for LibreOffice
Quick question- wondering if there is somewhere to download more graphics for LibreOffice? Specifically, I'm looking for those little line drawings at the end of pages, fancy borders, etc. Had them on WordPerfect, but they don't translate over to LibreOffice. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by they don't translate over to LibreOffice? Are they stored in a folder in a format that can be converted? Could you take a screenshot of a document with them open in WordPerfect, use a picture editor to trim to just the line drawing, and save as a jpeg for use in LibreOffice?

The Google is your friend (sometimes)I'm looking for those little line drawings at the end of pages, fancy borders, etc.
Search for
free line art graphics
free ornament graphics
openclipart : https://openclipart.org/tag/ornament
etc...
Just download and use the really free and/or open source versions of these .svg, .png files.
Or you can buy some commercial products on the internet. (The WordPerfect and its parts are commercial product too...)
Maybe there are some Apache OpenOffice and/or LibreOffice graphical extensions for this feature:

Could you make them yourself?
The 2 attached pictures I've just made in a few seconds. The smaller one is part of a screenshot pasted into mspaint using the selection tool and saved as a jpeg.
The second one is it stretched using Irfanview but you can just paste the small image into LibreOffice and drag on it to stretch it without using a picture editor to make it a line.

In addition to @Zizi64's proposals:
On https://openclipart.org/ you may find bunches of decorative ornaments.
Search for
(Be aware that WMF has got security problems: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_M ... nerability.)
Also in current OpenOffice (4.1.15) you find rulers in the gallery.

Re: Graphics downloads for LibreOffice
I found a couple of 'templates' here with fancy borders for the page (actually I think for a 'frame', which I have no experience of using myself). When I downloaded some of them they came down as .odt (i.e. Writer) documents but they might get you started to edit and create a new template out of them for yourself. Any difficulty with that perhaps others could advise. Letterhead Templates

Re: Graphics downloads for LibreOffice
Thanks all. I did check out google for images, and found several sites. Will check out the ones you have recommended. I just thought I'd check to see if LibreOffice has its own stuff you can download, but this is working out. Thanks for all the help!!

I like the way you think!! But yep, they're probably licensed or something. In the meantime, I've found several clipart options that will work.JeJe wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 10:57 pm Not sure what you mean by they don't translate over to LibreOffice? Are they stored in a folder in a format that can be converted? Search the Internet using the terms "fleuron" or "Printers' flowers", and you might find suitable clipart.
