[Solved] Replacing consecutive paragraph marks

Use Find and Replace. In Find box put $. In Replace box put \n\n. Drop More Options, check Regular Expressions, then do either single Replaces, or Replace All.

But if you are happier with MS Word, off you go.
Any clues how I can find $$ (two consecutive paragraph marks) and replace with one S?

Your answer is the only one anywhere that explains why I can't do what I'm trying to do, so, thanks for thinking outside the (search) box! See what I did there?

Would deleting empty paragraphs accomplish your goal? To do that, put ^$ in the Search For box and leave the Replace With box empty. Be sure to activate regular expressions.
It's a good idea to make a backup copy whenever you are doing a large Find & Replace.

You can also use autocorrect - in the Autocorrect options tick remove blank paragraphs. Then whenever you click on Format Menu/Autocorrect/apply will remove them.

Edit: If you want to keep a single blank paragraph then its usually better to instead use space before or space after in the paragraph style - it looks the same but is not as fiddly as blank paragraphs to make spaces.
