Unable to save file due to write error

Post by GGibson »

How is this solved?
I have tried all of these "solutions" and nothing works on this 6 year old problem

I am on Win 11 64 bit.

Side note: when I registered for this account, Hotmail default sent the confirmation e-mail to junk. neat how that works but my account is inundated with spam/junk on a daily basis, but the e-mail from Apache is deemed junk.

Unable to save file due to write error

Is there a step by step checklist anywhere for new users to follow somewhere in order to save files?
What do I have to do?

Are you getting this error when you try to save the document to your desktop?
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint

Try LibreOffice, much less troubles with saving files.
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE Faye) and 24.8 portable on Windows 11.

As Hager says; LibreOffice is worth a try. There are good reasons to switch to LibreOffice anyway, some of which are detailed here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
LibreOffice 25.8.1.1 (x64) installed to Windows 11 Pro. 25H2
Apache OpenOffice Portable 4.1.15 [Portable Apps]
For Java I use Adoptium Temurin JRE LTS Releases.
