[Dropped] AndrOpen Office (Android) configuration

This is my first post, I saw no folders for Android Open office so am placing it, appropriately, in "Beginners".

As should be seen in my signature, I have an Android S22 running v13.
I installed AndrOpen Office 5.3.6

The app suits most of my needs except it's ability to fully access files on my phone. I can read any .xls file (for example) in any internal directory. But it is opened in "read only mode" with an annoying banner at top of the screen. I remember being asked when installing about accessing local files and I granted that access.

I am not an android expert (or fan for that matter) but when I Googled file access issues for Apps, I found that I should be able to go into Settings->Apps-> =(menu)Special Access -> All Files Access, and turn on access for any app, but AndrOpen Office is not in the list.

Can anyone provide guidance? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

There are very few topics about AndrOpen Office because it's a third party app. It is not part of the AOO project.
You should try their support channels.

OpenOffice for Android (AndrOpen Office) Configuration

This is my second post, same topic, since the first seems not to have been saved.
I have posted this in "Beginners" since I could not find a folder on "Open Office for Android".

As you should be able to see from my signature, I have an Android S22 phone running v13. I installed AnrdOpen Office 5.3.6 (Aug 2023)

The app meets my needs accept for full file access to my phone. I can access an .xls file (for example) from any directory on my phone, but it is opened in read-only mode. If I Modify it it I can save it in some "Samples" directory, nowhere else. Upon installation, I granted access to my data folder.

I am not an Android guru or fan, for that matter, but according to Google, I should be able to grant full access to files for an app by using..
Settings- Apps-> =(Menu) Special Access -> All Files Access: Then select the app. But AndrOpen Office is not in the list.

I'd appreciate any advice on how to address this.

Edit: Your first topic was saved, and you received a reply. I have merged your second topic with the first one. Did you have same behavior with an ODS?

An .ods file is a spreadsheet, Saved in Calc's native format.
