[Solved] Recent document list and Macros cleared/deleted every month

I have been seeing this problem where my Open Office recent document list and VB Macros are deleted / Cleared about once a month. Is there something in Open Office that causes this or should I start shutting down other applications such as Security or PC cleanup software. After the first time it happened I started keeping a separate copy of my VB Macros. It behaves like it's a fresh install as it asks me for my first/Last name and Initials to use. Does Open Office install a fresh copy every month automatically? Do I need to purchase some license?

Loss of the recent documents list and macros is often indicated by being prompted to enter name and initials on a startup of OpenOffice. This occurs after an improper (often over-hasty) shut down of OpenOffice or the computer. It is best to close OpenOffice, then formally power down the computer or closing the laptop lid. Remember that to speed up operations computers and hard disks internally buffer data, then write it out in bursts, so before removing power allow a short pause to allow these buffers write to disk.

yeah; I bet this is what is happening ... I have been leaving it running on my machine ... and likely there is a machine reboot for maybe some OS updates or something during the night. Is there a way or location where I can store my VB Macros so they won't be deleted if I screw up again and leave Openoffice running and a reboot happens?

Seems as if that procedure isn't working out very well for you. Maybe don't do that.

Use
Save Basic to make copies in another directory of your choice. Use
Insert Basic if necessary to restore from that directory.
