Please read the Survival Guide for the forum. All CAPS is the equivalent of shouting.

Have you installed it? From the sourceforge site (link bottom right of this page)?
When you open the Windows menu and type openoffice, does it suggest anything?

If you really need to access the installation folder, it should be in the Program files (x86) since AOO is still a 32bit application.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the 🖉 button if your issue has been fixed.

What is the name of the exe? In what folder?
soffice.exe or install_something.exe?

Windows does not come with Open- or Libre-Office preinstalled. One has to download the installer from the appropriate source, then run it. Usually the Installer will offer to place an icon on desktop or somewhere obvious - not sure where, as I haven't used Windows in years, and the files should also show up from an entry accessed by the Program button.

How are you searching "for further apps"? Are you using Windows Search to search the Program Files folder? Are you using the Search box on the Start Menu?

Where is this "exe"? What did you do to make it show up? What is the name of the exe? Is it in the Program Files folder or somewhere else?
If you're using a 64-bit version of Windows, then the installed program files will be in the Program Files (x86) folder.

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program
The software originated as "StarOffice", so the executables you are looking for will have names starting with "S".

Code: Select all

swriter.exe
scalc.exe
simpress.exe
sbase.exe
sdraw.exe
AFAIK all of the above are "wrappers" for soffice.exe, to initiate it with user interface for a particular document type. For "open with" I believe you can just as well use the soffice.exe executable. It will adjust user interface depending on the type of file opened. If you start soffice.exe independently (without providing a file), it appears as a start-center with links for the different office apps.
