Hello everyone, I have been using Open Office for a long time and am very happy with it. However over the last couple of years when I open documents, OO will close. It then opens Terminal on my computer. Can anyone help me with this problem? Many thanks.

Does it open fine with Calc files?

You can try to reset your OpenOffice user profile.
If no improvement, then switch to LibreOffice or try at least a portable version just to make sure that the problem is not with the files. Or you can upload one here if there is no sensitive/personal data (see How to attach a document here).
