[Solved] Can't paste images from Snipping Tool

Post by Perfectionado »

Saving the image and adding "from file" works fine but this takes far too long when you have hundreds of images to add.

Recently changed PC and I'm using the same file. The old PC worked fine and I have hundreds of images in the spreadsheet.

Pasting simply states "the contents of the clipboard could not be pasted".

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Try LibreOffice, they have changed the picture management IIRC.
But saving first is better, it allows you to fine tune the pic and optimize it (reduce the size pending the number of colors needed for example).

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the 🖉 button if your issue has been fixed.

Thanks. Libre worked perfectly. Shame there wasn't a solution for OO, instead "just use something else". Thanks for the guidance though :)

Indeed, it is a shame. The latest versions of AOO seem to have lessen their compatibility with some OSes and applications.
In too many cases the mere use of LO is the quick fix, not good for AOO.

Be sure to backup the file.

AOO has a nasty bug where images get lost in documents. LO has greatly improved the image handling code but image loss still occurs in LO. See 16. Lost images ... and a word of caution about using AutoRecovery. LibreOffice 6.1 and later is now probably better than AOO in [Tutorial] Some useful hints on using images for a discussion off the problem
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.

I have hundreds of images in the spreadsheet.
Note: the spreadsheet softwares are not the best tools for a photoalbum.
