[Solved] Crash when copy and paste

When I try to copy a cell in calc the program crashes. I right click on the cell then click on copy and the program crashes this just started a day ago. I currently have the most current copy of openoffice.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

You can first try to reset your OpenOffice user profile.

If no change, try to switch to LibreOffice. Same code base but more actively developed.

That didn't work so now I am downloading LibreOffice to see if that will work

Started failing after applying latest maintenance KBB5019980 to Windows 11. I uninstalled, and C/P in cells works again!
Note: I was running 4.1.12 initially, when C/P failed, so upgraded to 4.1.13 - still failed!
I downloaded and installed Libre, and C/P worked successfully with KBB5019980 applied to Windows 11.

Are you telling me that it was windows 11.1 that caused the problem and you uninstalled it then c/p worhed

I missed that wick1941 was not the thread author. Don't hesitate to remove the solved tag if the proposals don't work for you in the end.
It seems that LO better integrate with Windows updates.

Yes, that's what worked for me! Removed KBB5019980 and was able to c/p on OO 4.1.13. Assume it will on 4.1.12 as well!
I had tried all the other suggestions; then, realized that the trouble began right after I applied the Win 11 maint on Wed. So I uninstalled the maint, and c/p worked as before.

So I uninstalled open office then loaded it back in and now it works. Also I did change the user profile before installing it back

I turned off Suggested actions in Clipboard settings of my corporate Windows 11 machine and Open Office Calc cut, copy and paste started working perfect with no more (Not Responding) in the toolbar.

To summarize, here are all my Windows 11 clipboard settings:
Clipboard history . . . . . . Off
Sync across your devices . . Off
Clear clipboard data . . . . Clear
Suggested actions . . . . . Off

I turned off "suggested actions" in clipboard options and that solved lockup in Calc. when executing copy command. Clipboard history is on with no issues. Thanks forum!
