[Solved] Delete labels with no data to print on last page

Hello,

I just finished creating mailing labels from a database (spreadsheet) with OpenOffice Writer. Although I selected the records that I wanted reflected on the mailing labels, there are several labels on the last page that show only the text that I typed into the label (e.g. "Lot #:" and my city and state, but without a corresponding record from the database, because there are more labels on the page than there were records). Is there a way to delete the "extra" labels, or at least to prevent them from printing? I would really prefer not to waste half a sheet of labels

Thanks in advance,
BoggyQuagmire

Alternatively, and probably easiest in the long run ...

... set up the labels spreadsheet so that all of each label's text, including the common "Lot #:", city and state, is in a row in the spreadsheet. You can select which rows to print and hence which labels get printed.

If you have used, say, the first five labels in a sheet, and you want to use the rest of the labels then edit the spreadsheet to add five blank rows at the start. Include those five rows when you print. The five empty spaces in the labels sheet are then not printed, or pedantically, printed with nothing.

I use 7 x 3 labels for Christmas cards so I have my spreadsheet set up with a few sets of 21 rows separated by a few blank rows and I print one set of 21 rows at a time. This makes easier to select 21 rows for a sheet of labels at print time.

Showing that a problem has been solved helps others searching so, if your problem is now solved, please view your first post in this thread and click the Edit button (top right in the post) and add [Solved] in front of the subject.
