Spreadsheet file full of #####

I recently installed OO4.1.13, and have since edited and saved my accounts summary spreadsheet (,ods) file.
Now when I try to open it, it displays various prompts then either opens it full of '#' characters, or completely empty.

The back up also will not open successfully.

Other .ods files open OK and open again after saving.
Can anyone help, or is this file terminally corrupted?

Take a tip: switch to LibreOffice it has significantly less issues on this score than OpenOffice and is more up to date than OpenOffice.
