Hi, I would like to divide the page into two parts so that on the left side I enter text and on the right side the explanations for this text. I tried to divide the page into two columns but it does not work Please help

Set the borders to the weight you require (including none) in the Table settings.

Another method, not mentioned in that link, would be to use one or more textframes on each page for the explanations.

In writing the tutorial I was more concerned with the problem of keeping text aligned and parallel.
