[Solved] Assign macro to toolbar icon/button

'need simple, straight-forward directions for assigning a recorded macro to an icon/button on a toolbar.

Click the gray area with a triangle on the right side of the toolbar, select Customize Toolbar and click the Add button. Go to the bottom of the Category window, open the Macros tree and select your macro (probably in My Macros - Standard). If there is more than one subroutine select the one that should run 1st in the Commands window. Click the Add button.
You can use the up/down arrows to position the item on the toolbar. You can use the Modify button to select an icon for the macro.
OK out and you should be in business.

Are you saying that the existing documentation didn't help? If so, which documentation did you use... the help file, or the Writer Guide, or both, or something else? As users, we're the only ones who can say whether the documentation is sufficient or not, so it's always helpful to be specific about what resources we used so their development can be improved.

The documentation I found says "Add <newline>
Opens the Add Commands dialog. Select any command, then click Add or drag-and-drop the command into the Customize dialog.
Modify"
Silly me, I dragged and it looked like it was dragging but when I released it where I wanted it placed the little dark spot in the corner flew back to where I dragged it from.
Add button worked.
One thing I do like about MS Office is you just drag the icon up to wherever you want it in the toolbar. Modifying the icon isn't as intuitive but at least allowed without external tools.
