Hello, I am trying to complete this UK Government form:

https://nhs-prod.global.ssl.fastly.net/ ... -form.docx

When I type in the text fields, the text is dark yellow and underlined. I doubt that it what they intend, and I would like the text to be black and not underlined.

How can I change the color of that input text and remove the underlining?

I am using OpenOffice 4.1.7. I have tried and I have tried making the file NOT read-only, and I have tried saving the document as .odt and I have tried changing the font colour and style in the usual way, but nothing helped.

Thank you

It is the track records.
Go to the menu Edit > Track Changes and switch it off.

Please add [Solved] at the beginning of the title in your first post (top of the topic) with the *EDIT button if your issue has been fixed.

Note: LibreOffice has a better compatibility with .docx file format. Which remains something to be avoided anyway, it is not a format designed to be really compatible with other office suites.

Thank you. That fixes it. The menu pick was Edit > Changes > uncheck Record and Show.

Incidentally I did try LibreOffice and the symptoms were exactly the same.

Of course, that settings is set by the last save operation.
The one who has uploaded the file forgot to deactivate the feature. Hence all people opening it will experience that also.
This is why PDF should be used instead of proprietary file formats.
