Pop up box blocking or clearing data from .xls file

ASCII Filter Option window pops up when opening a text file that I worked on yesteday. The illustrated text file opens as roughly 1200 pages of ####################
I want to open my file as it was before closing....
Two other files that I also closed yesterday open in the normal way

WHAT COULD I DO TO RESTORE?

OpenOffice 4.1.7 under windows 7 old ASUS laptop computer
