Properties/Editing Time

Post by mati325 »

I've opened 3 documents and went to Properties. I hadn't used this before, but noticed that the editing time was exactly the same on all 3 docs. Not likely. How do I reset and make sure it's working? Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Have you closed the dialog before opening another one?
Click the Reset button bottom right of the dialog to clear the data.

Note that if you've copied a document to create the 2 others, they may display the same data until you save them independently.

OK. Thank you. Looks like it was a coincidence that all three had the same time. They weren't copies either. Is the editing time format MINS:SECS:NANOS? If it's hours something is really wrong there.

Open a new document, edit it, then save it 30 seconds after opening. If the editing time is 00:00:30, then the format is probably HRS:MINS:SECS.

Thank you for your help. I did open a new document, did some typing, looked at the Properties and there was no time recorded. I saved it, did some typing, and there is still no time recorded. I have the latest version, as far as I know.

I get HH:MM:SS for editing time; bear in mind that this includes time when the file is open in editing mode, even if no editing is actually being carried out (say while reading the text).

They are ODF files (.odt for example)?
Make sure you've entered your name in the AOO options.
