Thanks for the link, but I ended up uninstalling, searching for OpenOffice on the C drive, deleting anything that came up, running CCleaner, and installing the new OpenOffice. It works now.

All you needed to do was delete or rename the OpenOffice user profile, or possibly only registrymodifications.xcu.
