Trying to 'Play' - slides become WAYYY too big for screen

I am creating a looping presentation and when I go to 'Play' (for review), the slides become about 5 or 10 times larger than they should be. I can tell that the timing and transition commands are working. It is just the sizing that is puzzling me. Is there a setting somewhere to match the 'Play' sizing to the screen that it is displaying on?

I do not recall ever seeing this. Does it happen if you try to view a presentation without a loop? Can you upload a small example file, maybe 2 slides, that demonstrates the problem. To upload a file, click Post Reply and look for the Upload Attachment tab just below the box where you type a response.

OK, I created a new, simple 2-page presentation and attached it here as you directed. It is doing the same thing. When I hit the "Play" button, I can see the transitions being made in the correct times, but the slide is many times too big for my screen (which is 2560 x 1600).

On my computer (Xubuntu, three screens, 2 x 1280x1024, 1 x1920x1080), the slide show plays on the 1920 screen, showing the entire slide. I suggest you try reducing (as a test measure) your screen to 1920x1080 and seeing if the problem persists. I would not be surprised if the problem related to arithmetic overflow with the 2560 screen.

1920x1080 worked!!!! The slides displayed perfectly.

Is there any way to adjust the slides to display in 2560x1600? Or must I adjust the screen resolution to 1920x1080 prior to starting the slide show?

I can't say about the 2560 adjustment, as I have not such a high res screen to experiment with. Something that might work is to reduce the window of the presentation from occupying the full screen to being a pixel or two less, and in Impress SlideShow /Slideshow settings, under Type, choose "Window". Impress should remember the settings and will possibly display correctly in the 2560-(minus a few pixels) window.

Another approach would be to start Impress from a batch file, which commences by setting the display to 1920, then starts up Impress, and on exit of Impress resets the display to full resolution.

This would be an interesting task for the keen student!

The Window settings I mentioned above shows the presentation in Impress, with menu bars and side bars, not a clean display in the 2560-pixels window, as I had hoped.
