How do I change this?

Post by WesNathan »

It seems anytime I copy a text document and paste it into OO, it spreads out all over the screen. It completely ignores the 'new document' page parameters. By comparison, if I paste into Wordpad, it formats it correctly. This is probably a format adjustment, but I havn't a clue where to look to change it. Any/all help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you using Web Layout View or Print Layout View?

Print layout view.

What application are you copying from?

It shouldn't matter. It's text that's being copied and pasted. OO is the best program I've run across for being able to open just about any program or file type out there. Again, I point out, I don't have this problem when I paste into Wordpad. If Wordpad can handle it, surely OO can. But...

It's probably a setting I don't have right.

Maybe you can upload a screen shot (keep it small) or a sample file. I regularly copy-paste from other programs and I don't understand what you describe - it just doesn't happen to me.

WesNathan, please read the Survival Guide to the forum (see the link in my sig below). Your topic needs a meaningful subject, which you can change by editing your first post (click the Edit button), and you should please have a look at the tips for asking questions.

"It shouldn't matter" isn't an appropriate reply to the question of what application you're copying text from. Unfortunately, it often does matter, so please answer the question. If you're seeing the problem when copying text from different sources rather than one application, that's also important to know. No questions here are idle ones.
Cheers!

Did you try the expanded paste button drop down list which offers options like "paste as plain text" or something?
