[Solved] No calc/impress/etc. icons, where are they?

Post by iifning »

hello. i've just downloaded the suite, but i only get one icon for OpenOffice, which opens the writer, but nothing for calc or anything else in either applications or X11. i've tried redownloading, but to no avail. i've had a look around the forum but can't see this problem. if i open a doc from email i can choose to download and open in oo, but i'd like to be able to create stuff using the full suite. when i've downloaded oo in the past on other (non Mac) machines, i get several icons for all the different bits, so i don't get it. please can you help? as you can tell from my technical language, i don't speak technical language, so please try to be gentle with me. love your stuff. really want to use it. thank you!

Just because the icons are missing doesn't mean the programs are missing. File> New should reveal all the available OOo modules.

If you really want shortcuts ("icons") to the different programs, you may need to set that up manually, but we can't tell you how to do that until you provide the operating system (OS) version you're using, as required in the Survival Guide that acknak mentioned.
Cheers!
