[Solved] Word Completion enabled but does not work

With word completion on the word gets highlighted,but when enter is pressed the highlighted part of the word gets erased.Three letters remain from the word and the first letter is a capital letter.

Example:

dropping
pping gets highlighed ,enter is clicked and I get
Dro

I cannot reproduce it here. What OS and which version of OpenOffice are you using?

Check the setting Tools > AutoCorrect... > Word Completion > Accept with
