Hi I need to know how to have both portrait and landscape orientations within the same document.

Have a look at the online Writer Guide, specifically chapter 4 "Formatting Pages" section "Setting up basic page layout using styles."

Landscape and portrait pages must have different page styles. Open Writer and search in Help for landscape and portrait. Scroll down to: "To Use Landscape and Portrait Page Orientation in the Same Document".
