Spell Check

Can anyone please assist me with how to find information on how to use spell check in this program. I have tried repeatedly to find how to activate and use it and after doing all that I believe it requires the function still does not work. When I type word which are obviously wrong in English it does not mark it as wrong, and when running a spell check it does not pick it up as being wrong but only states that the spell check is completed. Corel Word purfect does not need all this hoopla to work, nor does it require jumping through all these hoops to set up. You install and run it, that's all.
