[Solved] Problems viewing writer documents

Hi, i have a big trouble in scrolling up and down the pages of my writer documents: i can do it only by using the pag keys while if i try to click on the right bar the page automatically returns to the point where I was writing, someone can help me?

We could help if you specify, your OOo version (2.3.0 or 2.0.4 you could check it on Help>About), source (downloaded from OOo site or got with some linux distribution) and operation system (Win XP, Vista, Ubuntu, SuSE etc.).

I have the same version, and that never happens to me. Do you have that problem with all files? You might upload a file here that gives you trouble, if it's not confidential.

Are you using an old version of the Euro Office dictionary extension? That used to cause a problem like that. It wasn't actually the extension that was wrong, it just triggered a bug in OpenOffice. They changed the extension at version 2.4 to "fix" it. Try the latest version.

It may depend on exactly where in the document your editing cursor is. Writer in general is too aggressive (for my taste) at moving the view to include the editing cursor, causing the view I asked for to be lost if the cursor is not in the view. In some situations (working around frames I think), it seems almost anything will trigger a view reset.

Using PageUp/Down also moves the editing cursor; that's why it works for you.

Thank you Huw, it was actually an euro dictionary problem, I solved it by downloading the new version.
