[Solved] Cross Reference

Is there any way of using cross reference to cross refer the numbers of paragraphs or outlines?
I number examples in some of my writing and want to refer back to them in other places of the text.
At this point I am unable to use the crossreference style because there is no way of selecting the number alone.
