OpenOffice.org 2.1 Novell Edition for Windows

Post by i4support »

Does anyone know where support for OOo 2.1 Novell Ed. for Windows can be found? The help menu mentions help on http://www.openoffice.org ....is that true?

We're testing OpenOffice 2.1 Novell Edition on WIndows 2000 and XP machines on our Novell network and we're having a few issues.

1. When opening XLS files in Calc on Windows 2000, some of the columns expand, and it takes 2 pages to print the full width.

2. The MS Office protection doesn't quite work. We're also having the problem that documents that are on a Novell network shared directory, when accessed by a user that doesn't have administrator rights, the document opens up as read-only, and any fields can't be filled in. If someone logs in with Administrative rights, there's no problem, but then nothing is protected.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you talking about paid support, or support in general?

If "in general" then, yes, that makes sense, as every distributor builds on the OO.org release and thus any OOo you find will be 99.9% the same.

If you're looking for support with features that are specific to Novell, you're certainly welcome to ask and discuss it here, but you may not find ready help due to the very specific audience.

If you're looking for paid support, I think you'll need to talk to Novell, or look for a consultant.
