Printing problems with HP Laserjet 5L; Windows XP

Post by Blain »

Dear OO-Community,

i habe pronting problems with any Application of OpenOffice 2.3.1 and my HP Laserjet 5L printer. My Operating System is Windows XP Home SP2 (and all cuurent MS Updates are installed).

The Windows testpage works fine and any other application (except the OO-Applications) works fine.
I have installed the current HP printer driver (HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6 PCL5e Driver v02.12.02 4 Mar 2002).

When i print a "writer"-document containing 2 pages, the fist page starts well but in the middle third, the font starts to get slushy. The lower third and the upper third is perfect.

When in print a "Calc"-document containing 1 page, the upper and the middle third of the first page are perfect but then there is only the text of the first column on the page and the text of the other colums move to a new page and are not on top of the page, it is in the lower third of the page.....

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks a lot,

Blain

Hello there,

i did some testing and it seems, that there is only the printing problem when i print in calc or if a "writer"-document contains a table (becaus it is also an calc-table and not a writer-table - the opposite of Microsoft Office...).

Thanks...

[Removed duplicate thread in Calc forum]

Please don't start multiple threads for the same topic. I think this is the best place for the topic.

Sorry I can't help with your question.

What does that mean, "the opposite of Microsoft Office"? That doesn't make sense to me... I would think it all depends on how you insert the object, as to whether it's a Calc object or a static copy or a linked object.

Can you post a sample file so we know what you're looking at and can test on other printers? I have an HP DeskJet 840C... but I'm thinking your Calc module did not install correctly, that you should download a fresh copy of the installer and run it.
Cheers!
