[Solved+Issue] Word Compatability: removing text highlights

Post by ngotelli »

I have been exchanging documents with colleagues who are using Word. If I highlight text in Writer, those highlights cannot be removed from the document when it is opened in Word. We have tried this with several versions of Word, and it also happens on Windows and Mac machines.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would be very grateful. I apologize if this topic has been addressed before, but I searched the index and could not find anything.

Many thanks!

A bug has been filed, you should subscribe and vote for it (up to 2 votes per issue) : Issue 24317 - Highlighting - incorrect export to DOC.
It IS possible to remove in MS Word... Just select the mentioned text with the mouse, go to "Format>Borders and Shading>Shading". There select "No Fill" and the Highlighting will go away.
I tag the thread as Issue and move it to the Writer forum.
