Help! Spanish typing...
Help! Spanish typing...
I need to type a lot of papers in Spanish, so i have a us-international keyboard installed (hitting ' then a letter puts an accent over it) but after my open office updated to a newer version a few weeks ago, this no longer works! I can open a web browser or note pad and hitting a ' then a letter makes an accent ( ó ) but in open office no matter what I do it still just does this ( 'o ). any suggestions?

What operating system are you using?
LibreOffice 7.x.x on Arch and Fedora.

Looks like the OS is Windows. You also didn't say what version of OOo you use. All such information is absolutely necessary for many questions.
To your question: the behavior of OOo that you describe doesn't happen on my computer. Do you have several keyboard definitions? I remember that Windows would switch between Dutch and US American (international) when it felt like it (that is, it would switch to Dutch in Word when I was typing Dutch text), and that only stopped when I removed the Dutch keyboard from the country settings.

Windows will switch the keyboard when you press Control + Shift. In my experience it is best to disable this in the Language Bar settings, and switch manually using the mouse on the system tray icon. Even that is not reliable and often takes two attempts.
