APA 5th Edition Software

Post by lynnfr »

I need to have the APA 5th edition software downloaded into my OpenOffice Writer. The issue is, which version do I buy? There is a version on the Reference Point Software that loads into "Star Office" but I am not sure if that is correct. I have called teh Reference Point Software people but one must leave a message and I would like an ansrew sooner than that. Other software companies sell the APA 5th Edition but they will only download into Microsoft Word. Has anyone else bought the APA 5th Edition? If so, which version did you buy? Thanks!

I downloaded the Style Helper demo version from the APA site; the site says that's not compatible with Word 2007 which sounded promising to me. But my test didn't prove anything because I have MS Office installed. I re-associated .mdb (Access) and .doc to Base and Writer, but the new document generated by the software opened in Word anyway.

All I can do is suggest you try the same thing with the free demo, including changing the file association changes. My guess is that it won't work without Word, because the APA software creates a special toolbar and runs scripts that OOo might not be able to run (different script language).
