When I search for a name most of the times (if I have him) the search gives me the file (or files) where I can find him.
But unfortunately it is not always so. Recently I searched in my files for 2 names "Rautter" and "Zwissler" but although I do have them inside 2 different files, their search was negative (OpenOffice couldn´t find them). Now I wonder, how many other names the "search" is not able to find ??? Why "search" can´t find all names ??? Then I have other 2 problems, If I search for a family name with first name (ex.: Müller Ernst) most of the times (if I have him) the "search" finds him (full name) in my files, but sometimes not (the search finds the name only but not the first name, why ??? Finally, the names/officers are all listed with their ranks before, ex. H.(for Hauptmann) or M.(for Major) or O.(for Oberst), so when I search for "M. Ruprecht" the search finds him (if I have him), but if I search for OTL.(for Oberstleutnant) Braun, or GM.(Generalmajor) Angern or GFM.(for Generalfeldmarschall) Rommel the search doesn´t find them although I have them. So why "search" finds officers with only 1 letter in front (H., M., O. etc.) but not with 2 or 3 letters in front (OTL., GM., GFM. etc.) ??? Pls. help me, I need a better functioning "search", which can also find the names in the 3 examples above. If possible kindly reply to my private email. Thanks+regards, R. Grandi, Italy
